Bing Crosby & Rosemary Clooney Show - Old Time Radio

Bing Crosby & Rosemary Clooney Show

Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney were each big stars in their own right before they came together for this radio show, which aired between 1960-1962. Crosby was initially recognized as a crooner in the 1930's and then rose to fame as a recording and movie star. Rosemary Clooney was first known as a big band singer in the 1940's. Crosby and Clooney starred together in the movie, White Christmas in 1954, and remained lifelong friends thereafter. Crosby and Clooney each had successful radio, television and music careers, including chart-topping hit songs.

The radio show aired on CBS for 20 minutes every day before the noon news hour. Crosby owned reel-to-reel magnetic tape recording equipment, and much preferred pretaping his radio performances rather than doing live productions. The conversational portions between the two stars were done when they happened to get together. After the radio show ended, each continued to enjoy flourishing multimedia careers despite some setbacks in their respective personal lives.
